Whether you want to master simple alterations, fix and adjust your favourite clothes, or build confidence in dressmaking techniques, this session offers expert guidance tailored to your needs.

Work on your own projects with support every step of the way, pick up practical tips, and leave with new skills you can use again and again. Perfect for anyone looking to sew smarter, not harder!

What you’ll cover:

Complete unfinished pieces
Learn clothing alterations
Build confidence in sewing and dressmaking techniques

Suitable for:

Beginners who can use a sewing machine (basic level)
Improvers wanting to refine skills
Anyone with a project needing help (hemming, resizing, repairs)

What to bring:

A project you wish to work on
A sewing machine (if you have one). We have machines on site if needed.

About the Tutor:

Gaynor has over 40 years’ experience in dressmaking, having started her career creating wedding gowns for a bridal company in West Wales before launching her own business at just 19. She went on to design bridalwear, occasion wear and stage costumes, as well as soft furnishings. She now runs Perfect Fit, specialising in wedding attire and garment alterations. Alongside her business, Gaynor has been teaching for the past seven years, supporting learners to develop dressmaking skills and confidence in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Minimum Age: Please note that you must be aged 16 or over to enrol on this course.
