Tropical Island Resin Art Work

Course outline

Create your very own slice of paradise in this tropical island resin artwork workshop. You will learn the basics of working with epoxy artwork resin including safety and how to add colours and textures before creating your own artwork that you can display in your home.

We will look at how to use real sand, shells and other textures to create your island and then pour a resin ocean, including making waves. There will be a range of colours for both the textures and water for you to personalise your artwork to your own style

This workshop is designed to allow you to explore your own creativity and will be open to interpretation, so if you would rather create a sandy shoreline or even just focus on the water itself, we can explore all of these techniques for you to create a piece of artwork that is perfect for you.

Your artwork will need to cure overnight before it can be collected. This will be discussed with you on the day,

What do I need to bring along?

Please wear older clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy, or bring an apron along. If you have any respiratory conditions, you may wish to bring a respirator but the resin you will use is certified safe for use without one, is non-toxic and VOC free. Please bring £5 materials contribution payable to the tutor. 

About the tutor

My name is Helen and I have been working with resin for nearly 7 years. I began exploring resin in 2020 after a major life event and became completely hooked. I have learnt from some of the most experienced resin artists in the U.K. and apply those skills to create homeware, artwork and other decorative items using resin and eco-resin. I love colour and glitter but also enjoy creating pieces in a more muted style.

I was a primary school teacher for 11 years but now work part-time in the NHS, which gives me the freedom to create and craft alongside my job. I am really looking forward to meeting you and sharing my love of this art medium to hopefully introduce you to a whole new world of resin!

Minimum Age: Please note that you must be aged 16 or over to enrol on this course.
